Only came outside to watch the night fall with the rain
I heard you making patterns rhyme
Like some new romantic looking for the tv sound
You’ll see I’m right some other timeLook now, look all around, there’s no sign of life
Voices, another sound, can you hear me now?
This is Planet Earth, you’re looking at Planet Earth
Bop bop bop bop bop bop bop bop this is Planet ParthMy head is stuck on something precious
Let me know if you’re coming down to land
Is there anybody out there trying to get through?
My eyes are so cloudy I can’t see youLook now, look all around, there’s no sign of life
Voices, another sound, can you hear me now?

I want to live alone
Because the greatest love
Is always ruined by the bickering
The argument of living
I want to live alone
I could be happy on my own
Live the rest of my life
With the vaguest of feelingWherever you are
Whoever is there
You know that I’ll be here, I’ll be here
Wishing I could be thereAnd so I’m going to live alone
I’m not saying that our love is the greatest
But I’m in love with you
And want to stay in love with you
So I’m going to live alone
Yeah I’ll be happy on my own
Live the rest of my life
With the vaguest of feelingWherever you are
Whoever is there
You know that I’ll be here
Wishing I could be thereIn NYC when I get in a taxi
I say “Man” to the driver
So he’ll say “Man
Oh, I can imagine
Having a drink with that guy”“He’s alright”
Wherever you are
Whoever is there
You know that I’ll be here, I’ll be here

We were tight, but it falls apart as silver turns to blue
Waxing with a candlelight, and burning just for you
Allocate your sentiment, and stick it in a box
I’ve never been an extrovert, but I’m still breathingSomeone tried to do me ache
Someone tried to do me ache
Someone tried to do me ache (it’s what I’m afraid of)
Someone tried to do me ache (it’s what I’m afraid of)With hindsight, I was more than blind, lost without a clue
Thought I was getting carat gold, and what I got was you
Stuck inside the circumstances, lonely at the top
I’ve always been an introvert
Happily bleedingSomeone tried to do me ache
Someone tried to do me ache
Someone tried to do me ache (it’s what I’m afraid of)
Someone tried to do me ache (it’s what I’m afraid of)4 7 2 3 9 8 5 – I gotta breathe to stay alive
And 1 4 2 9 7 8 – feels like I’m gonna suffocate
14 16 22 – this skin that turns to blister blue

What is the architect doing?
He is by the riverside
What is he thinking out there?
He is committing egocide
Now isn’t that a strange thing?
Well to him it feels just
Well, we guess a person’s gotta do
What a person feels he mustHe said: I won’t throw myself from the pier
I’m gonna go home and shut up for a year
And when the year is over I’ll reappear
And have a solutionI’ve reason to believe that what I find
Is gonna change the face of humankind
And all these years before well I was blind
That’s my conclusion‘Cause I’m the architect
(I think it’s touch and go)
‘Cause I’m the architect
(I think it’s touch and go)
‘Cause I’m the architectNow the man has understood
That outer space is overrated and too
About all the problems on this earth we should
Worry now to solve them later
And so he’s brooding and alluding on a perfect design
He thinks that working on behalf of himself is a crime
He flushes out by the water, a view so divine
He’s the architect of his own fate, a man in his primeHe said: I won’t throw myself from the pier
I’m gonna go home and shut up for a year
And when the year is over I’ll reappear
And have a solutionI’ve reason to believe that what I find
Is gonna change the face of humankind
And all these years before well I was blind
That’s my conclusion‘Cause I’m the architect
(I think it’s touch and go)
‘Cause I’m the architect
(I think it’s touch and go)
‘Cause I’m the architectI think it’s touch and go, and I think we’re going to make it
Don’t let up
Don’t let up, or we won‘t make it
Don’t let up
Don’t let up, or we won‘t make itAnd so he drew himself a pentagon
Thinking it through a geodesic dome
From the coast of Tahiti, to the hills of Rome
Step aside, ‘cause the man will take the Nobel prize homeHe said: I won’t throw myself from the pier
I’m gonna go home and shut up for a year
And when the year is over I’ll reappear
And have a solutionNow, if these aspirations bother you
Well you are just you, you don’t have a clue
I’m sticking to the plan; I will see it through
Let there be no confusion‘Cause I’m the architect

There’s got to be someone here tonight
Who can explain to me
How shadows can also shed a light
How they can outshadow (Outshadow)
What happened between us
And outline our shadows
In the burned ground beneath us
I need to be explained to
Over and overHow a broken heart
Is not the end of the world
‘Cause the end of the world
Is bigger than loveI was in Washington, D.C. for the election
And when they announced the results
I left the procession (Procession)
Content in the world’s direction (Direction)
Tried to call you for an estimation (Estimation)
Of the distance to the star constellations (Constellations)
Or any explanation ofHow a broken heart
Is not the end of the world
‘Cause the end of the world
Is bigger than loveAnd it’s bigger than an iceberg
Than the plume of a geyser
And it’s bigger than the spider
Floating in your cider
And it’s bigger than the stock market
Or the loose change in your pocket
Than the Flatbush Avenue Target
And their pharmacy department
And it’s bigger than our problems
And our inability to solve them
From Coney Island to Harlem
To the end of the world and back againHow a broken heart
Is not the end of the world
‘Cause the end of the world
Is bigger than loveWriter(s): Jens Lekman

It got too hot and so we overthrew the system
‘Cause there’s no place for human existence like right here
On this bright blue marble orbited by trash
Man, there’s no beating that
It was no big thing to give up the way of life we had, oh
My social life is now quite a bit less hectic
The nightlife and the protests are pretty scarce
Now I mostly spend the long days walking through the city
Empty as a tomb
Sometimes I miss the top of the food chain
But what a perfect afternoonIndustry and commerce toppled to their knees
The gears of progress halted
The underclass set free
The super-ego shatters with our ideologies
The obscene injunction to enjoy life
Disappears as in a dream
And as we return to our native state
To our primal scene
The temperature, it started dropping
The ice floes began to freezeFrom time to time we all get a bit restless
With no one advertising to us constantly
But the tribe at the former airport
Some nights has meat and dancing
If you don’t mind gathering and hunting
We’re all still pretty good at eating on the run
Things it would have been helpful to know before the revolution
Though I’ll admit some degree of resentment
For the sudden lack of convenience around here
But there are some visionaries among us developing some products
To aid us in our struggle to survive
On this godless rock that refuses to dieWriter(s): Joshua Michael Tillman

Drink up, baby, stay up all night
With the things you could do, you won’t but you might
The potential you’ll be, that you’ll never see
The promises you’ll only make
Drink up with me now and forget all about
The pressure of days, do what I say
And I’ll make you okay and drive them away
The images stuck in your headPeople you’ve been before that you
Don’t want around anymore
That push and shove and won’t bend to your will
I’ll keep them stillDrink up, baby, look at the stars
I’ll kiss you again, between the bars
Where I’m seeing you there, with your hands in the air
Waiting to finally be caught
Drink up one more time and I’ll make you mine
Keep you apart, deep in my heart
Separate from the rest, where I like you the best
And keep the things you forgotPeople you’ve been before that you
Don’t want around anymore
That push and shove and won’t bend to your will
I’ll keep them stillWriter(s): Steven P. Smith
